RFS Briefings - January 26, 2016Our most recent issue of RFS Briefings with some timely and encouraging updates on women in science. Of note in particular: The L'Oréal Foundation and UNESCO revealed the five exceptional laureates of the 2016 L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Awards, in the field of Life Sciences. Nominated by more than 2,600 leading scientists, 2016's five laureates were then selected by an independent and international jury of 13 prominent scientists in the international scientific community. Honored are: Prof. Jennifer Doudna, Prof. Andrea Gamarnik, Prof. Emmanuelle Charpentier, Prof. Hualan Chen, and Prof. Quarraisha Abdool Karim. They will receive their awards at a ceremony to be held on March 24, 2016 in Paris. |
